What should I do if I’m new to the Rock Valley School District?

New families will need to attend Registration Day on Thursday, August 12, 2021.  The hours for registering your new students are 7:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. in the High School Commons.  Please bring all documents with you at this time.

Why is Rock Valley using an Online Registration process?

We place a high value on your time.  With that in mind, the district worked with Infinite Campus to install their Online Registration tool in our district to allow you to have the convenience of registering your family from literally anywhere, anytime. Yes, it’s true, you can register your family for school next year while wearing your pajamas! This process is also very similar to how colleges and universities are handling student registration.

Will we still have a traditional registration day each year?

Yes!  We will have a traditional registration day on Thursday, August 12, 2021.  The hours will be 7:30 am – 1:30 pm & 2:30 pm – 6:30 pm. in the High School Commons. The shift to the Online Registration process may eliminate the need for existing families to attend the day at school.  All new families must attend Registration Day and any existing families that would prefer assistance with the Online Registration process are welcome to attend Registration Day.

When and how do I pay for registration fees?

All registration fees will be assigned and will be accessible through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Payments can be easily made through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal by e-Check or credit card, or by bringing cash or a check on Registration Day.  All fees must be paid by August 19, 2021.


Where can I find my student’s schedule?

Parents are able to login to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and find this information on the Schedule link on the left side menu. If you have any questions about finding this information, you can contact your student’s building and they can assist you.

How can I get help if I have trouble with the Online Registration Application?

Getting help with Online Registration is just an email or a phone call away. You can send an email to your building secretary; Lisa at the elementary, lvandent@rvcsd.org, Nancy at the middle school and high school, nwynia@rvcsd.org and Maria for all Spanish inquiries, molvera@rvcsd.org.  Briefly describe the issue you’re encountering and be sure to include your first and last name, as well as a phone number where you can be reached so we can better assist you. Can I register my student(s) from my smartphone?

Although it is not officially supported, parents have reported success in navigating the Online Registration Application using the browser on their smartphone. The application is best suited to be completed with a regular computer or larger tablet type device.

What should I do if I don’t have an Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account?

If you have never set up an Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account, you can submit your request by emailing campusportal@rvcsd.org.  Please note in your message that you are requesting a Parent Portal account and include your first and last name and a phone number where you can be reached.  If you are just unsure of your username or password, there are self-recovery options on the Portal Login Page. Just use either the “Forgot Your Password?” or “Forgot Your Username?” links to reset them. If you have other Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account questions you can give us a call at 712-476-2701.

Why aren’t my step-children showing up in my Online Registration Application?

If you’re having troubles with step-children not showing up on your Online Registration Application, it is probably because we don’t have you configured in our system as a legal guardian of these students. If this is found to be an error on our part, please contact your building secretary at 712-476-2701, menu option 1 for middle school and high school, menu option 2 for elementary, for further guidance.

How do I complete and submit my Free and Reduced Meal Application?

According to the USDA, Free and Reduced Meal applications will not be required for the school year 2021-2022 as all regular meals will be free for all students.  Students who have been designated free or reduced via state eligibility will have their Book Fees reflect this information.  If you believe you may qualify for free or reduced fees and your Book Fee does not reflect free or reduced, we encourage you to complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application prior to paying any school fees. Qualifying for free or reduced meals via application will also allow you to receive free or reduced instructional fees.

Free and Reduced Meal Application materials will be available in the High School office on August 2, 2021. We can email a copy to you and you may print the forms yourself and mail them in or come to the High School Office (1712 15th Street) to pick up an application. How can I purchase an activity ticket online?

Purchasing student and adult activity tickets online can be done very easily through the Parent Portal. You will use the same convenient payment process as you do for paying instructional fees to complete the transaction. While in the Fees section of menu options, look for the Optional Fees button at the bottom of the page.  When clicking this button, you will be directed to the page with the optional fees such as Activity Tickets.  You can select any of the available options and add it to your cart.  Once purchased in this manner, we will be able to run reports and distribute activity tickets to students who have purchased them online.


If I am an existing family, how do I add my PK, KG, or other student who didn’t attend Rock Valley last school year?

You are able to add additional students to your application by using the Add Student button found on the Student section of the application.
